I made a major mistake when I put my 2 12volt chassis batteries back in my motorhome. I put the 2nd battery back in its location backwards, which in turn created a major spark with the reversed polarity. The coaches negative wiring was connected to the positive battery terminal. Not to be too long winded, I had a friend who owns his own diesel repair shop troubleshoot the system and took out the ECM/TCM module off the engine. Sent it off the be diagnosed and found out it needed to be replace. $1,995 Ouch!! After it was re-installed, I am having the same problem. Engine will not start. When turning the ignition switch on first turn the dash does light up, but turning again, just a click noise. The coaches monitor keeps repeating the same messages: "PARK BRAKE SET IN GEAR", NO DATA TO ECU OVER 25 SECONDS, NO DATA TO TCU OVER 25 SECONDS. My friend who thinks it's the data bus control unit, but it's over his head to work on, or he just doesn't have the time. But, I have it in a storage area where it would be impossible to have towed out. And I've used 1 mobile mechanic service come out and $100 later said it's above his ability, even thought I told him the issue over the phone. All fuses are ok. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your difficulty, but I suspect it's gonna be over our pay-grade too. I've read about the "no data...over 25 seconds" data bus message before, but don't have clue as to how to isolate the cause or fix it. Probably need a topflight Freightliner chassis tech to help.

You could try calling FCCC Customer Service at 1-800-FTL-HELP to see if they can steer you towards a fix. Have the last 6 digits of the chassis VIN handy when you call.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I called a local freightliner company close to where I live in Tennessee, and they suggest that I look at the transmission fuses to see if they shorted out. The only thing is he wasn't sure the location of them since every coach might have different locations. I'll have to check all the manuals that came with the coach when I bought it 3 yrs ago from the original owner who kept immaculate records. Thanks again everyone!!

Thanks Kirk, will do. I've had plenty of experience pulling and re-plugging fuses for sure. I notice you live in Texas. My youngest son lives in Manvel, just south of Houston. He's loving it. We visited last Christmas. He bought a beautiful white brick home.
