2008 View - slide sticks

Hello everyone,,
Winnebago View 2008....open up slide today only to have the top stick and the bottom came out a little bit.It has stopped working altogether. We cranked it to open and close manually.It will not work using the button.The motor works but the crank bar does not.Any takers??P.S. I am very new to RV life so be gentle!

What type & brand of slide mechanism? It sounds like a rack & pinion gear type, maybe from Power Gear? If the motor turns but the gear rack doesn't move, it may be that the key or pin that connects the motor to the drive shaft has sheared. If the motor just grunts and quits, then the slide itself is jammed and the motor can't move it, so it shuts itself off to avoid damage.
