A member with a 2009 Fleetwood Tioga Class C reported that both slide-outs stopped working with no clicking or response. They had already checked several fuse locations, including under the dash, under the hood, the battery box, and converter box, and noted the bedroom slide had previously needed a gentle nudge when it hit a dead spot.

Members suggested checking for 12V power in the coach, confirming whether lights and other 12V items still work, inspecting battery terminals and cables, and...

Hi!,
Both my slides stopped working. No clicking, nothing. New truck battery 2 months ago. We have checked fuses in places we had no idea there were fuses! Under the dash, under the hood, battery box and converter box. Is there any other secret spots for fuses?
The bedroom slide has been giving us issues last year, hitting a dead spot when open or closing, but a nice gentle nudge and away it went. We replaced the converter box 4 years ago, previous owner had also replaced it.
Thanks for any ideas
Kathy

Welcome to the forum.

It would help immensely if you let us know which rig you have. Your description above could be a trailer, a class C, a class A, or maybe a 5th wheel. Note, too, that even among each of those classifications, different manufacturers, sometimes even different models might have different ways of wiring, of fuse box placement, battery locations, type of slide mechanism (electric/hydraulic/cable), etc. Details do matter in trouble shooting.

Ahh, on second reading I see it has a dash and a hood, so it's likely a class C, but the other problems still remain.

Ahhh again! When I exited and re-read the title I saw that you DID provide the make and model. Sorry I missed that, though it often helps if you put that in your signature (see your profile).

I'm not familiar with your specific rig, but I think you've found the most likely locations that I'm aware of for fuse boxes. But battery terminal and cable conditions (rust/oxidation/torn insulation) are possible things to investigate, along with any "basement" storage spaces.

Do you have 12 VDC available in the rig (i.e. lights work, etc.). Often, near the door, there is what is often called a "salesman switch" which removes all battery from the house part of the coach (except maybe a dedicated line for the retractable step or radio, for example), which could have inadvertently been operated. Are you on shore power, and if so, do things like the microwave work?

Oh my, so sorry! It's a 2009 Fleetwood Tioga Class C

Looks as if you replied while I was editing my post. I did finally notice you had the rig in the title, but not until I'd already posted. My correction showed after your post above.

Kirk can likely help you a LOT more than I can. Good luck.

For a 2009 Fleetwood Tioga Class C, the slide-out fuse is typically not located in the main interior fuse panel but is instead an inline fuse or a slow-blow fuse located on the slide-out controller board.

  • Primary Location: Check the controller board for the specific slide, which is usually mounted on the wall in the power bay or near the house batteries. This board often contains a 20A slow-blow fuse that protects the slide motor circuit.
  • Secondary Location: If the controller fuse is intact, check the chassis fuse block under the dashboard (near the emergency brake pedal or steering column). The slide system requires ignition power, so look for a fuse labeled for "Slide-out Ignition Power" or circuit 529.
  • Alternative Locations: In some Tioga models, the fuse may be found in the Battery Control Center (BCC) located in the entry step area, or hidden in a rear plywood compartment under a lift-up bed if it is a dedicated inline fuse for the slide motor. "
