2009 KZ Sportsmen rv a/c. See pic

Hi guys newb rv owner and this is a brand specific question.
It's my understanding that there is a basic air filter in the ceiling intake for the top A/C system
Mine doesn't have one (see pic) im guessing that will come off to put a filter in but my concern is the 2 knobs in the center. They go through vent cover and im wondering the best way to take this cover off. Thanks

The knobs may be keyed, probably a half moon slot.
As far as the filter, he needs to buy the thin foam type filter.
something like this. 1/4 inch thick.
It's washable and lasts quite a while.

Yoy nailed the knobs. Beware they may have Shaft extenders between Knob and switch

You may be able to buy the filters, precut but the ones suggested will cost less. For precut filters, check for the make & model of the air conditioner. After I realized it, I did as gwinger has suggested. You can find all types on Amazon if you look there.

I feel more comfortable removing those knobs now. Assuming things have cost me over the years

I also found a thin black piece of foam about 14" x 14" tucked away in a drawer. Looks like they had the filter and just never got around to putting it in.

That's the filter! The previous owner may have thought they would get better airflow without. The only problem without using the filter is the evaporator coils will collect dust.
If the filter you found looks like it's worn, torn or shedding, replace it. Most Big box stores have them.
