Our new 2013 meridian 34 has a number of aggravating clicks, squeaks and snapping noises coming from behind the drivers seat near the top of the coach. They are not present on smooth roads, but on any bumps the noises are aggravating enough that i just want to stop driving the darn thing. I'm going to take it back to the dealer to have them look at it, but I thought i would like to hear from other owners first. I lubed the slideout gaskets but that did not help.

John, thanks for the suggestion. The noise we are having is different. It is very aggravating, and the dealer is going to look at it in two weeks when we take the unit back.
I was wondering what the normal noise level was for this type unit. This noise seems to be getting worse as time goes on and seemed to start to be noticeable after we had the drivers side slideout repaired. The repair was necessitated by the fact that the bottom rear corner of the slide was open about one inch from the sidewall. That problem was fixed, but either i am now more sensitive to road noise or it truly is getting worse. Hopefully the dealer can shed some light on it.

My last motorhome was a 1975 GMC, so I do not have a baseline as to noise characteristics on modern slideout motorhomes.

We get the occasional squeaks or pops but that's not usual.  On a nice highway with the wind behind us, it's like sitting in a recliner in your living room  :).

CBTraveler,

That is what happened with our coach.  It took two trips to the factory to get the problem resolved.  They finally got into the wall and found where the frame had come apart, allowing for movement when conditions where right(rougher roads).  Once the framing issue was resolved, the coach is great.

Spudnut81,
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to talk to the service manager and see if they can check for that possibility. That would be consistent with the timing of the noise level increase and the type of noise we are getting. I can envision something like that happening when they had to replace the slideout motor and tracks.

We had a sound like that in our 2011 meridian. it was from the drivers side window (movement between wall and window frame) it got worse with time. Hold your hand on upper back window frame and wall when it makes the popping sound I could feel the movement in ours. I talked with Winnebago they agreed  to replace  the window and it did fix the issue

Fla Tom,
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to check that out on our next trip.

It's hard to get a real feel for what the sound might be, but here's another possibility. Your unit probably has the MCA solar/blackout shade system like mine. I found that these slap and bang unless adjusted to roll up tight. I'm still playing with mine but am slowly getting the slapping sounds one at a time each time I drive it.
