Hello, my name is grose and I am new to the forum. My wife and I have been campers for many years. It started about 30 years ago, then we paused for about 15 years as we moved to a hobby farm and raised our children in the country with horses, campfires etc. In 2014 we got back into it and purchased a 2014 Salem Hemisphere by forest river, that we loved. It was a very solid trailer, but we required a few convenience changes with the interior and decided to trade it in on a brand new Bullet Premier by Keystone. We completely love the layout, it tows like a dream with a 3.5 eco boost F150. So far we are still in love lol. About 3 weeks into ownership we discovered a soft spot on the laminated floor.

I would like to ask for your input on what you think an acceptable repair would be. Can or should a one piece laminated floor be pieced together on a New Trailer?

Thank you so much, in advance, for your input.

Welcome to the forum.
I can't help you with replacing the floor but if it was me,  I would find the cause of the soft floor first. Things like a leaky kitchen sink drain or supply lines, window leaking, water heater leaking, roof seams needing new caulking in areas. Chances are that the sub floor is also rotted. Good luck.

I agree with Ren?'s approach and you said: " About 3 weeks into ownership we discovered a soft spot on the laminated floor." This should be a warranty job but it would be nice to know the real cause or the extent of the damage before turning it over to the dealer. This is the only way you will be able to verify if the correction was done properly/completely.

Unfortunately many dealerships get failing marks in this regard.

Thanks Stu. I missed the part about 3 weeks.  I would call the dealer today but chances are they bought it "As is" unless it's brand new. I would make them aware of it and not bring it to them until the camping season is over with. Because, what may happen is once it gets to the dealer. it could be there for weeks.

OP said they bought in brand new

Where is the soft spot?  Is it between two floor joists?  Are you a big boy (as I am)?  I certainly would talk to the dealer, but must agree with Rene T, I'd let them have it during the winter months, unless of course you will be heading south with it.  Sometimes in this RV industry, they sure can use thin stuff (1/4") and soft under the foot.  Good luck, keep us posted.
