Hi all.
First fifth wheel after towing bumper pulls for the last 17 years. Currently have a 2018 Jayco talon 413t with a 20k Reese slider hitch mounted on a 2005 Chevy duramax 2500hd 4x4 with a cst 9? lift. So as you can imagine my rig is not level. For now this is my setup. I adjusted the hitch head to the 2nd set of adjustment holes. I attempted to bolt into the first(top) holes but the bracket part it attaches to is in the way. Has anyone used the top holes? If so what did you do to achieve that? Thinking the hitch head is universal so maybe that?s why those holes are there? Anyone familiar with this hitch and can speak on it? Thx for the input. I have attached some pics with what I?m talking about. Thx

Tony, welcome to the forum.
Your main concern is the clearance between the bottom of the trailer and the tops of the truck sides. You want to end up no less than 5? and 6?. Preferably 6?. I would start there. If that clearance is less than 5?, I can guarantee you will have issues towing over uneven torrain.
You want to end up with trailer somewhat close to being level. This may require flipping the axles so the springs are on top of the axles.  With the nose of the RV high, it puts more of a strain on the rear tires of the trailer.

Thx for replying. Yes I am concerned about the clearance but I am definitely clearing that 6? lol. I want to drop the hitch head since it looks like I shud be able to hit the bracket doesn?t go further down.

If you?ve got the required clearance why would you want to increase it by another inch or so by raising the head? I?ve got the 20K slider hitch but I can?t look at it right now. It?s 1500 miles away.
You can always give Customer Service a call at Reese.

I?m trying to decrease by an inch or so by dropping the hitch head. Thx yes my next action is to call their customer support/tech and discuss. Thx

Oh I miss read what you were saying. Please let us know how you make out. It may help others down the road.

1st off i would not worry aboutthe clearance as at 2600lbs min that toy hauler is way to heavy for the truck then sticking it on a 2005 2500 with a 9inch lift is a recipe for disaster sorry the trucks towing is only 16000lbs and dry that trailer is 12000 add water and a little gear and your maxed out in a hurry
