I have attached an Excel file with 500 parks that have free WiFi. The file contain hyperlinks to each park's website. All have websites. Either they advertise free WiFi or I received an email from them confirming that their WiFi was free to overnight guests. I had to restrict myself to parks with websites so I could get their address. Using their address I was able to obtain their latitude and longitude.

If you import the file into MS Street & Trips, the balloon will show the hyperlink that you can click on and get that parks website.

Tom, I started a new thread because your thread indicated you desired parks that the poster had actually visited. I suggest you replace my files you put in the library with this one. For those that have downloaded my old files, I suggest you replace them with this one.

A fantastic amount of work it would seem; great job!! What restrictions are you placing on distribution to other web sites, if any ? If none, what attribution should be used ??

Thanks

Great Job JamesOne !!

If I upload the file to MS S&T, will it automatically overwrite the other file or will I get 2 lots of Pins ?

Thanks
Paul

PS :-

we are currently staying at Harmony Lakeside RV Resort at Silver Creek, WA 98585 (360-983-3804), nr Mt Rainier NP [sp] and Mt St Helens NP.

this really is a beautiful CG rsting on the edge of the lake, with wonderful landscaping/gardens.

they provide cable and free wi-fi, but dont have a website.

just thought I would mention it for anyone passing this way.

James,

Apologies for delayed response; We've been having too much fun with old (and new) friends at the RV Forum rally in Moab.

I've replaced the two old files in our library with the new (zipped) one. On behalf of all forum members, thank you so much for your work creating and updating this file.

No restrictions of any kind. When you download the file it becomes yours to do as you please, change, modify, add, delete, etc. No attribution necessary.

It will not overwrite the original file. Go View>Legend and Overview>Push Pins>Right click on the original file>Delete

Thanks for that JamesOne.

The CG I mentioned previously, HAS got a website stating free wi-fi - so I guess with CG No 501 you're well on your way to 1000 !? ;D ;)

Ok, I'm working on 600 parks with free WiFi.

New rule. Everyone who has downloaded my file of 500 parks owes me.

Send me a park that has free WiFi and is not on my list. Just post the URL for their website here. I will take it from there. By posting it here we may avoid duplicates.

I have made a DeLorme draw layer from your spreadsheet file.  See the attached.  This will work in all of the current DeLorme mapping programs.  With your permission, James, I would like to send this along with the original .xls file to Bob Cook who publishes all of the other very popular and useful RV related draw files.

Please Ned send it on. I have no problem with that. I am working on a 600 list but have hit a stone wall at 542.

I have been going through other lists and sending emails to the parks. The parks have been very good about responding but the positve responses have dried up. I am sure there are more but...

Any suggestions?

James,

Thanks for the permission, I'll be sure you are referenced as the author.  I don't know what else you can do to gather more data beyond what you're doing.  You've done a remarkable job getting as many listings as you have.  Thank you for your efforts.

Ned,

Is Bob Cook the guy who does the discovery motorhome campground locations?

James,

Doesn't meet your criteria, but Ruby's Inn complex
includes a campground and Best Western. They don't advertize free WiFi and told me I'd have to go up to the Best Western for access.  However this was sent from the comfort of my 5th wheel.

Joel,

Yes, the files are all available at http://www.discoveryowners.com/cginfo.htm.

Hope you enjoyed the trip over the mountain and didn't get into any snowstorms.  I know you'll enjoy Bryce Canyon.

Well staff member, you started this thread drift!

Yes, I enjoyed the trip over Highway 12.  Camille didn't!  She doesn't like heights.

Bryce was beautiful.  Miss the gang there at Torrey.

Here is my payment - We are currently at Railway RV Ranch in Williams, AZ and they have free WiFi.
