50a connectors

What is the actual connector designation for the 50a connector on the trailer that you plug in the shore cable to? All the web sites just refer to it as a rv50 connector.

Why? Well, the shore power cord on my trailer has a PVC jacket and as such just does not coil up. I would like to make a new one with SOOW cable.

Also, I will be having it in my driveway for a week or so after I bring it home and will need to make an adapter cable to mate to my 100? feeder cable which has CS connectors on it.

The 50 amp twist-lock connector doesn't have a NEMA number, it's a CS connector.  CS6364 for the female plug on the end of the cord, CS 6365 for the male connector on the trailer.

If you mean the end of the shore power cord that plugs into the shore power pedestal, it's a NEMA 14-50P plug and NEMA 14-50S socket, the same plug and socket used for 50 amp clothes dryers and electric stoves.

My business has (not in use due to the virus) 100? & 50? foot cables with CS connectors. Was hoping I could use them but the photos I see on line don?t show the center pin (alignment?) that are on mine. I use mine to connect to gen sets for outdoor entertainment.

Make sure your cables have the same wiring as the 50 amp trailer twistlock.  120/240 volts with two hot pins and a keyed neutral pin with ground via the shell.  The 120 volt 30 amp twistlock looks similar but has a single hot pin and neutral with the third pin as ground, no connection to the shell.  The 120 volt ground pin is keyed opposite to the 240 volt neutral pin so you can't plug one into the other.

I am pretty familiar with most cord caps and my feeders are wired properly.

My problem is I am new to RVs and my trailer is an 8hr drive from here and I did not study the connectors when I purchased it last month.  Since I know of several 50a 120/240v connectors and the places selling rv connectors calling it simply an RV50 left me in the dark.

I have a 14-50s (range receptacle) in my basement I use for testing my gear and I have a cable with a 14-50p on one end and a CS-6364 on the other. I can run it out the cat door and down to the driveway to power the trailer for the week or so it will be here while provisioning it prior to moving it to a campground.
