Location
Penryn, CA. (foothills of the Sierra)
Our main destinations were Disney World, Great Smoky Mountains & Yellowstone.
We use my Spot Satellite messenger to let the family know where we're spending the night.  I thought I'd share since all of our check-ins show our path around the U.S..

Looks like a great trip!
Do you get the same perks at Disney as the people staying at Disney resorts? And is there transportation into the parks like there is from the hotels?
Is Spot Messenger an app or a piece of equipment?

Wow those are some long days on the road, I have done Fort Stockton, Texas to Iowa, Louisiana before (my wife grew up in Iowa, Louisiana)  it is a LONG day in a car, and a very Long day in an RV, 659 miles all on I-10.  I did a 4,200 mile loop in 31 days, Louisiana to Yellowstone in the summer of 2017, with my longest stay in one place being 3 days, and longest single day of driving being a bit under 400 miles and that felt like a lot of miles.  I hope you had a second driver for this trip.

Fort Wilderness is a Disney resort and comes with all the perks.  There is free bus/boat/monorail transportation to all of the parks for those who want it.  Spot Messenger is a deck of cards sized GPS transmitter.  I use it for backpacking but it works great for RVing too.  Since we boondock (mainly truck stops/travel centers) it lets the family back home know our overnight locations (and creates an online map of your travels).

They are long days.  I do the driving in the family so when I get tired we find a place to spend the night (attached in our Dachshund learning to drive, depending on how he does he may be the second driver :).  I try to average 55mph (including fueling stops) so, a 10-hour day of driving nets us 550 miles (which is about average for us).  When we're going from destination to destination, there's really not much else to do but drive.  I have to say we love our Sirius XM Radio, it provides a lot of entertainment on the road.

I tried to let our dog drive but he keeps bumping up the cruise control.  ;D

Wilow Creek Hang Gliding? Lived in FL for more than half my loooong life and never heard of it. Got to checking and there is lots of powered hang gliding all over the state. Who knew? Might try it this weekend at Amelia Island. Thanks for the tip.

Oops, my mistake, it's Wilotree flight park.  https://www.wilotreepark.com. They use ultralights to tow hang gliders aloft.

There's another place nearby doing the same; Wallaby Ranch http://www.wallaby.com/discovery.php

It's a big country.  You could do that every summer for years and still not see everything.
Basically what I did for ten years full timing. I think I might have seen 1% of what there is out there that I would want to see. And 1% might be a bit optimistic. This is why I always get a good laugh out of the foreigners who want to take a two month tour around the country thinking they could see the whole thing.

And it's not just people from other countries. There are many folks in the U.S. who have no conception of how large the U.S. (let alone North America) really is, and little conception of what long distance travel actually entails (at least without being on an airliner).

We can totally relate - did you know that Texarkana is closer to Chicago than El Paso ?  ;D ;D
