$900 to replace fuel sending unit?

If the pump still works, just fill-up every 250 miles. That's what I would do. $1000 bucks is like over 10% of the total value of your rig. Not a good ROI
 
They charged me 300 because they said it was "LEAKING" at the hose fitting some years ago on a Mercury Tracer. No need to drop the tank.. Also it was NOT leaking when I pulled in.  but that dealer is ... No more  (State padlocked them. I was not the only one they ripped off).
