Guitar collectors and vehicle collectors are all searching for a 'barn find'. For a guitar collector it would be finding a 1954 Fender Stratocaster and case stored in an attic for 60 years and was barely ever played, it would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars today. For the car collector it would be like finding a 1954 Chevrolet Stingray under a cover in a barn with less than a thousand miles.

Well I have been shopping for a replacement for my fiver and I ran into a barn find. A real barn find. It was stored in a heated garage for its entire life and rarely used. When you read the first line of the ad in Craigslist it sounds like it is too good to be true. However after viewing it I decided it was true and I just got back from closing the deal.

"Garage kept no water damage or storm issues non-smoking. No pets all original clean title in hand all books and records, "

Here is the Craigslist:

I have never owned a truck. Rene helped me last time. It is located about 40 miles south of me and I have arranged to have it towed here on Monday. It will be put the storage yard. I need to sell a bunch of stuff that I am no longer using. I will need some help when I do the transfer. I will need to park my current RV next to my new RV and then transfer all my stuff. Then the new RV will need to be put in my site and then old RV into the storage yard. I plan on selling the old RV to a company that runs ads on Craigslist.

well it was your good fortune that it was presented that way, bound to be a plethora of people pass it up because of the reason you stated.

Congratulations! Looks very similar to the DRV Mobile Suites 5th wheel I found on Facebook Marketplace a couple of years back. 3 1/2" thick walls and great floor and ceiling insulation means it stays comfortable inside if I decide to stay in it during Pahrump's 100+ degree summers, something which was beyond my Sunnybrook travel trailer. It's a/c would give up any time the temperature went over the mid 90s and during the summer of the Covid lockdown I wound up spending most afternoons in my well insulated air conditioned shed.

The DRV was in a park across town from my space in the Escapees park. I wound up paying for a month's space rent there while I prepared it to move and got a 5th wheel hitch installed on my truck. The DRV is much too large and heavy for my pickup but it was able to tow it across town without incident. About a year later I got a smaller Arctic Fox 5th wheel for my travel rig.

Gorgeous rig. My sister has a keystone Montana that looks very similar. She and her wife love it. Congrats!! Also that seems like a very good deal.

I never made such a claim.

My exact words were:

"There is NO mandate anywhere to give up your old ICE vehicles, not even here in CA in year 2035."

100% true, there is no mandate to give up ICE vehicles in CA.

The mandate is you may no longer buy NEW ICE cars after 2035 in CA.

Funny first thing I noticed is floor plan very similar to my Montana. 3231CK

That's wonderful!

I have been hoping you would find a new one to replace the one you have now! No more leaky roof!

I hope you find some good helpers to make the transition from one camper to another.

Actually a lot of the fivers I looked at had a very similar floorplan - living room - kitchen - bathroom - bedroom. Fortunately it was the exact floorplan I wanted.

I am actually getting more help than I could have ever hoped for. Film at 11.Mould 4.jpgMould 3.jpgMould 2.jpgMould 1.jpg
The first three were there when I bought the RV 8 years ago. It is why I got it so cheap. The last one is currently leaking about a cup of water into the bathroom every time it rained.
