I'd say you made a good choice. It's similar to the unit we have. We have been very happy with our Onan Cummins 4500i. The remote Start/stop is great, and the run time on a tank full, does the job for us. We opted for a higher capacity genny after trying to use a couple of champion 2000 w gennys hooked up in parallel. I think you will be pleased with the job it will do for you...
FWIW we carry ours on a front hitch mounted carrier that's low enough for me to load it. I may have to use a ramp to get it there in the future.

Safe travels and all the best.

I put the genny on the front of my trailer. It fits nicely. I got a cable bicycle lock to secure it. I looked at that handle and 2 screws it comes right out. I didn’t like that option. I took the rear cover off and found part of the frame structure to secure it. I notched out the plastic a bit so the cover goes back on like it’s supposed to.

We are in Nashville at the moment. We got in last night with rain rain rain. The gennie ran last night for less than an hour, and now this morning it won’t start. I hit the remote start, nothing. I went out and pushed the start button, nothing, so I pulled the start rope and it almost sputtered a bit, almost started, but I got nothing. I’m %90 sure it has gas in it. It had about 1/3 tank and we haven’t used it but a couple hours total. Is it cuz it sat out in the rain? Aren’t these things made to be rain resistant? I was hoping my new cover would arrive before we left.
Congrats! Very similar to mine. Just read the manual if you travel above 5000 ft.

Check that. The generator started up with a pull of the rope. I didn’t even try the E start

Glad it all worked out.

I usually carry a can of starting ether.

I would also suggest you keep your gas tank full.

As the tank heats up during the day, the air/vapors inside expand out thru the vent. At night the air/vapor will contract and suck in moisture laden air. The moisture will condense in your tank and foul the fuel, making it hard to start.
Safe travels and all the best.

We were in Cheyenne in December of 2013. That’s a coooold sonuvagun!
We lived in Cheyenne from 1971 to 1982 when we moved to an acreage north of town until moving to Texas in 1989. All three of our sons graduated from Central High School.

Not to hijack the thread but is generator output affected by age? I have had to tweak settings on my inverter over time to keep from tripping the generator circuit breakers. I always attributed it to the generator getting older

WEN just put out a new 3600 dule fule inverter generator for $500 on Amazon it it will run up to 14 hours on 50% load on propan
There are many videos on YouTube already I like Jhonny weekends vids he has several on small inverted generators
I have this WEN, been on a few trips and it is awesome, runs my 13500 AC with power to spare, about 46 pounds. Propane or gasoline. I sold my Honda EU 2000i and bought this gen with enough change to buy a front receiver for my truck.

Friend of mine has the one you bought, other than the doubling of the weight, it is awesome. Love his remote start.

I use an open frame WEN 3500 watt inverter generator. Can run everything in my travel trailer. Even though it is an open frame, it's pretty quiet.
