We have used Cornell Lab "Merlin" for several years but just started using it bird song identification app. It really works great and is very easy to use. Open the "Sound ID" tab, push the record button and it does the rest. It records the birds singing in the woods and then identifies them for you. Hear a bird singing but just can't name the bird the app will list the most probably bird for you. Best yet the app is free in the App Store on your iPhone (ours are 12's)

This is an older post that I just discovered.

I downloaded the free Cornell Lab app and I'm looking forward to using it. We recently moved and we have birds in our new neighborhood that we haven't been able to identify. There's more to the app that just bird songs. Len and Jo, thanks for posting the info.
