This happens.

  • "CA Gas Could Hit $8.44 per Gallon in 2026 Due to Refinery Closures, Regulations"
And more EV charge stations too! Paid for by the polluting oil companies!

However, expect to pay more for charging your EV in CA too.

Gas would be cheaper than electric....LOL It said that..
That is already true in a few places. The price of electricity varies more than does gasoline.

An EV charge varies in price from free to more expensive than gasoline, depending on where. But the norm is cheaper. At least has been. If gas becomes a lot cheaper, use it to charge your EV!

I am all set to charge any of my EVs with gasoline.

No such choice with gas cars. No easy way to convert electricity into gasoline.

Somebody needs to invent a true inverted generator where you put in electricity and get out gasoline!

So those two MH's you own don't pollute?

If there were decent E-RVs with reasonable charging E-RV infrastructure, I would own such instead of my gas rigs.

Regardless, you have a choice, if you're driving around in a MH it's you and not the "polluting oil company" to blame for your vehicle's emissions.

Oh dear. If gas hits $8 a gallon it means I can only drive 100,000 miles instead of 200,000 before recouping the extra cost of an electric car. :giggle:

Depends on the cars. Compare a Rolls Royce with a Nissan Leaf and see how much you will save. ;)

EVs and ICE are probably very close to the same price these days, with used Teslas probably being even cheaper than many used ICE cars.

But I never thought trying to save money was a good reason to go with an EV.

The tremendous torque of EVs would be one good reason, IMO. Especially when they start having E-motorhomes with a >500-mile range with a decent charging infrastructure. Not there yet, but I assume soon will be.

Economics 101: Used Teslas are cheap because for whatever reason people aren't buying Teslas. You can get a good deal on a VCR too.

That EV motorhome with the 500 mile range and the charging infrastructure to support widespread sales ain't happening in our lifetime, dream.on.

Yep, I have said so myself. I am too old to see it happen.

That is why I purchased my 2022 ICE Class A. I cannot wait for what will not happen in my lifetime.

I expected EVs to get cheaper than ICE fairly soon, but Tesla beat my expectations on used. Lots of bargains out there on used Teslas.

Good thing I do not care about resale value. I never buy anything to resale.

If your expectations were Tesla's would not depreciate at a rate faster than than the Edsel, consider your expectations beaten. Tesla's are losing value because they're not worth much, ie., no one is buying. That's how this works. Used car dealers say the auction yards are overstocked with Tesla's and they're getting calls everyday from people trying to unload Tesla's. Too much supply and no demand.

Yep, and mostly for very stupid reasons, making this a great time to buy a used Tesla.

When will you buy yours? ;)

If they're a great buy they wouldn't be going unsold. Sales of Tesla's are bad here and even worse in the EU. I'm pretty sure Tesla's 15 minutes is up.

A big part of the poor sales is the CEO who many people hate. Has nothing to do with the car. Other reasons are because we are now flooded with used Teslas. Other reasons too, such as Hertz dumping a lot of them.

Just like just about anything else, buy low, sale high. We are at a low now. How long will it last?

I would agree that buying a new Tesla now is a very bad investment. That is almost as bad as buying a new motorhome as I did a few years ago. But I do not regret it at all. I will not go broke over it.

Are you going to now rush out and buy yourself a used Tesla? ;)

"People are buying up used Teslas as the average sale price dips"

Used Tesla market.

You all better hurry and buy yours, the used Tesla Market low prices probably will not last that much longer.

Why would I buy a Tesla? It does nothing that I want or need. I do own some Tesla stock however.
