My retirement trip is Dec 11 to the Keys. But we plan to be in Florida by Dec 6 or 7. Outside of Fort Wilderness, is there a "fun" RV resort to stay in for those 4-5 days down in the southern part of Florida?

When I say "fun", I mean plenty of things to do. We stayed at Sweet Citrus in Crystal River back in February and it was nice. But it wasn't as fun as I hoped it to be. For this trip, we don't want to just relax. We want to enjoy activities in or near the campground. One can only play so much Pickleball.

If anyone has been to Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, this is what I'm referring to. Someplace like that.
Thanks

If anyone still has suggestions, I'm quite interested. But for now, I just punted.

We're staying at Fort Wilderness until we leave for the Keys.

I think the best area for "fun things" is in or near Tampa, which has a Busch Gardens theme park, the Florida Aquarium, the Tampa Zoo at Lowry Park, and the town of Tarpon Springs, a tiny coastal community with a heritage of Greek sponge divers.. Also beaches, and scenic sights such as the majestic high bridge over the bay. Lotsof big RV dealers too, if you feel like window shopping.
