Add bed platform to cab area of class a?

RE:  2006 Damon Daybreak (no slide outs)

The cab area consistently seems like a total waste of space while parked and I'm trying to think up a way to add a fold-up sleeping platform of some sort to that area.  I was thinking about contacting one of my clients at a machine shop to possibly fabricate a folding one out of aluminum but don't have the slightest clue of design, or more importantly - cost!

Anyone have any suggestions?
