Members are discussing cost-effective ways to address roof delamination bubbles on a 2008 Monaco 34ft RV with a flexible membrane. Several RVers suggest that if there are no leaks and the bubbles aren’t worsening, it may be best to monitor the situation rather than attempt repairs that could introduce new vulnerabilities. Some recommend using spray adhesive via a small puncture and then sealing the hole, while others warn this could create potential leak points if not done carefully...

2008 Monaco 34ft I know it’s a long shot but is there a way I could repair these bubbles without spending a ton of money? It’s been like this for about a year, no holes but worried.

I have some of those on my 5th wheel. I have watched a few repair videos showing folks rolling those out. a couple just took a box cutter and carefully slit the top along the length and reglued and then eternabond tape over. if they are not getting worse, maybe dont do anything.

You can try piercing a hole just big enough to insert a spray adhesive tube, like the red tubes that come with WD40. A couple of strategic spots and spraying the tube in every direction of the hole and then smooth it out as best you can and then seal the little holes.

This worked well for reattaching the headliner in my boat w/o any signs it was done.

You would be a lot wiser to just watch it close and leave it alone if you don't have any leaks. If you make cuts or hole in it you will have made a place for a leak to start. If you do choose to try and reglue it, first make sure to use a glue that is proper for the membrane that you have. Then once you finish, cover the holes with a membrane repair kit or with Eterna Bond tape.

I had several bubbles about 18" x 4". I wasn't too worried about them so I recoated the whole roof with liquid rubber. To my surprise they all collapsed and disappeared overnight. I guess it soaked through the EPDM membrane and glued them down. That was in 2014 and they haven't come back. And no new ones have formed.

I have a few of those along the outside edges of the roof, I'm just keeping an eye on them to see if they get any worse. They didn't glue it good enough is the problem. I'm adding solar panels that will hold down the edges so not to worried.
