Air compressor

Bob,

I just checked the compressor that I purchased, I dropped the AP to less than 75 LBS and fired up the compressor and ran it until it shut off at 100 PSI. Applied the air chuck to the valve and indeed the pressure on the regulator gauge did drop to 80 PSI. I then tested the tire a "good" gauge and it read 80 PSI dead on. I also used it to air some tires on a friends car. Works for me. Of course the recovery to 100 PSI takes a little time, but I am retired and every day is Saturday. I suspect that this compressor would not work very well on 22.5" wheels, but it is adequate for my 19.5" 80 PSI wheels. I also suspect that the unit would not stand up to heavy everyday use, but if I am lucky I will only need it every week or two at most. I do agree that the air chuck that comes with the unit sucks, but I had a good one for airing duels.

ThanX for the come back.

Thanks everyone for the input.  After reading all this, I'm off to Sears to try and find a tankless unit. Space is a big problem on our rig, more so than weight. Although we do like our Minnie, probably in a few years when we can have to time to travel more, we will make the move to a class A.
While on the subject, has anyone tried the ridged extenders like  http://www.borgtiresupply.com/index-dv.htm . Dully valves, they are called. Seemed like a good idea to me, although dismounting the tire would be required.

Personally, I would much prefer the flexible steel extensions. Lot less cost, and with the ends securly attached to the wheel/wheel cover, there's less strain on the valvestem itself when applying pressure from the air chuck. $90 is a lot of money and they don't state whether that's for one or two; two would be required. And, as you mentioned, there's the cost of dismounting/mounting the tire. If your set on using them, you may want to wait until you replace the tires with new ones, and throw some Equal in at the same time.
