Howdy, Y'all.

The fan motor bearings are kaput on our bedroom air conditioner.  It is a Duo-Therm by Dometic unit, model # 620015.307, roof mounted.  Jack wants to know how to replace that motor. It looks to be very difficult because the drive shaft is so long. Is there a trick to replacing that motor without disassembling the whole world?<Grin> Ideas, suggestions
or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I suggest that you email Dometic Customer Support, [email protected].  They have been very helpful in walking us thru repairs and upgrades of our A/C units and refrig.  They respond quickly, often the same day.  They have advised the parts to order and have been correct even when the local shop has advised otherwise.  They know their products!

I'm facing a similar motor replacement, but with a Coleman unit. As I see it, the main problem is that the tubing/compressor is in the way, so the compressor needs to be unmounted and shifted slightly. Have to be careful not to kink or bend the tubing excessively. That's not all bad because it will give me the opportunity to replace the compressor shock mounts that have probably hardened and made the system more noisy inside the coach. While I'm at it, I will replace the large unit-to-roof mounting gasket too.
