Friends:
I have a Coachmen Mirada (2009) with two overhead air conditioners. My 1 year old Onan 5500 generator can run both air conditioners without problem. Here's the weird thing, when I turn off the air conditioners, one after the other (not at the same time), my generator throws an over frequency error (error code 14) and shuts down. I've had the generator to the Cummins shop (Cummins owns Onan now). They have connected the generator to their loads and thrown the loads on and off. The generator doesn't die. I'm thinking there must be something to do with the inductive load that the motors of the air conditioners are creating that is tripping up the generator. Is there a way to fix this problem? Thoughts?
