Alliance Avenue 25RL reliability and inspection feedback

Hello, thank you in advance for any assistance provided. Last year we picked up a 2018 small 18ft RV, had a good time but to small with dogs. We sold that and have narrowed down to a couple different 5th wheels. Avenue 25rl looks good but we have been reading some negativities about the Alliance brand. We understand it's a newer company, and most likely had growing pain issues the first few years, which might be where the reviews came from. We thought we would toss out to the forum about real life experiences with the Alliance brand customer service and reliability on the road.
We have also read to hire an outside neutral inspector even if we are buying new from a RV dealer. This makes sense when spending 75-100k.

My son has an Alliance travel trailer that he is starting the third year of ownership. They usually use it every other weekend all summer as well as for at least one week trip each year and sometimes two weeks. He is very satisfied with the RV and his dealer. It is important to check out the dealer as well as the RV. You may also want to check out the Alliance Owners forum as well.

We have owned one of the first Alliance products made since 2020. If we were to buy again, it would be an Alliance. Their service is one important area that sets them apart from other manufacturers.
Your decision to have your unit checked out by a third-party inspector is sound and may well save you future grief.

I missed this on my first reading of your inquiry. If you are not confident in your dealership it might be a good idea, but you need to realize that a good, certified inspector will charge you at least $300-$500 and more thorough inspections, can range from $500 to $1,200. These inspections often take several hours and cover a wide array of systems, including plumbing, electrical, and structural integrity.. Alliance has a good reputation for customer support by the owners that I know, so if it were me, I wouldn't spend the money for one

This is great feedback. We are not sure about the Blue Compass dealership. Noticed they have several locations. The first time we went it was a horrible experience with the sale staff (grrr). We took a break from looking and just got started again. This time is so much better! We'll discuss the pro/con and see what is comfortable. We have been having a time finding 5th wheel under 30', with dedicated generator space we both agree on (when we moved the last time, we didn't look at this many homes), it's overwhelming. We have narrowed the choice to 2 models, the Binkley 2680 and the Avenue 25RL they have almost the same amount of space. With the 2680 being 15-20k more. We are trying to decide if it is worth it the extra money. Then after reading some reviews, we started questioning our choices.

The one brand that my son considers to be better than the Alliance is the Brinkley. He studies the RV world very carefully and constantly, must as I used to do when I was younger and showing him the ropes. He suggests that you read this evaluation of the two as a realistic comparison.

We are trying to decide if it is worth it the extra money.

That is something that only you can determine as each person's financial position and sense of value is pretty much unique. The RV community has many owners who want the price of an entry level and the quality of luxury models. You just can't have both. I would also consider how long you expect to keep the new RV. I look at it as a cost per year.

Shopping for RVs, any size, type, price point, or dealer, new or used, can be a very trying experience. The games and "gotcha's" they use will test the mettle of most.

Recently, my wife and I have been in the market looking to move on from our diesel motorhome to a Class C gas rig. We've tried, cough, Camping World, General RV, Blue Compass, and the largest local RV dealership. When looking for a trade deal, talking to these dealerships, we would have been better off talking to a man from Mars. Finally, my DW and I decided the heck with dealers, sell out motorhome first, and we'll shop the private market. After taking a couple of weeks off from the dealer merry-go-round, a sweet used C that checks all of the boxes fell into our laps, and we are in the process of making the purchase.

When getting into the RV lifestyle and buying an RV, I suggest that the OP be willing to compromise. Brinkley vs Alliance? Only the OP can tell if a $10K-$15K difference in price will be worth it to them. According to the experience of a couple of YouTube content providers, it seems Brinkley's lofty early quality ratings have taken a bit of a hit now that they have become so popular, and I guess more demands are being placed on the factory and production facilities due to increased production quotas. Besides the name, can the OP see, touch, or feel the difference in cost between the two?
