Alternatives to OEM tank sensors

The Vena monitor also uses the existing propane sensor.  It's just a variable resistor.
 
LOL Jeff. I'm sure I'd remember an experience like that too.
 
I remember reading of some external stick on sensors some years ago too... One would think the "probe" systems are fool proof but even with the black water valve open and the clear extension showing only air in the hose the guage shows stuff in the tank (3/4 on my rig) I'm going to do some advanced cleaning when I run a pressure line out to it, I may do advanced (higher pressure) cleaning, don't know yet (I can go up to 1,000 psi easily enough but I'm not sure the hose I have will restrict flow enough to hit that pressure, note, this is a flow rate issue rather than a hose srength issue)

Right now, I know the tank is empty,  IT does not.

If that fails I need to take it down the road for a day.. If I do that it will have the 10 (or 20) gallons of water and 5 lbs of ice in it before I come home
