Anode stuck in Atwood Hot Water Tank.

I have a 2007 Fleetwood Excursion with a 10 gallon atwood water heater. Upon attempting to remove the one year old Anode to winterize the tank the Nut end of the Anode twisted off leaving the rod in place in the tank. I tried Blaster and the like but can't seem to dislodge it. Any suggestions??

If it's an Atwood, it should not have a anode. Only Suburban has them.
Can you take a picture of what you have and post it?
What's the model number of the Atwood?

The Atwood?s put in a 2007 Fleetwood products definately do not have an anode.  In fact they only use a nylon threaded plug, for a reason as you have discovered.  But yours may have been replaced at some point with a different model.  What are the model and serial numbers on the WH?

There may be a new tank or water heater in your future.  Once you figure out how to disconnect the water/gas/110v/12v connections it?s a fairly straightforward process to remove it.  Mine was. PITA because it?s under the washer/dryer with very limited access to the back of the WH.  I replaced the heater element and mixing valve while I had it out just because.

You may have to drill a hole in the remains of the nut and use an EZ-Out or similar "screw extractor" to unscrew it.

Do NOT ever put an anode in an Atwood, and Do NOT use metal plugs. Use a nylon plug in the drain.

What happned?  Well the metal of the plug being DIFFERENT from the tank.. It "Rusted" in place. GOod luck
