recheck the delivery address it was sent to and see if they took a pic of the delivery. Whenever there has been any discrepancy amazon or the vendor always resolved it however amazon is getting more difficult to deal with as time goes by.

There were bogus charges hitting my credit card from another amazon account and they refused to give me any info cause they couldnt verify the other account. How dumb is that? My credit union reversed the charges when i reported them but i had to get a replacement card
I need to find out if others around here got their mailboxes ripped off. I found out that the US Post Office is now having a big problem with master keys being made illegally.

IMO, they should use fingerprint locks to prevent this. I own several that I use with my motorcycles, they work very well. They can all have separate keys for backup, but it only takes one fingerprint to open any of them.

I have now completed reporting the credit card issue as well as the mail theft to the US Postal Inspection Service.

Mail theft is getting to be a big issue these days. My Reno mailbox was ripped off a few months ago, along with all my neighbors.

But I never expected such to happen here in Auburn.

Online scamming is a lucrative asset class now,

Per Google 10 billon yes BILLION was scammed last year. Not all of it was online some stull use the Telephone or in-person scamming. TEN BILLION.. I'd like to see the government go after them and hand each and every one a fan of.. Well this year. 10 Billion... Next year likely 11.5 Billion But alas the Government is not doing that (Consider it a criminal conspiracy and make each and every one of them re-pay what they all took.. That woudl fix the national deficit I'm sure.. Problem is our Scammer in Chief will never go for it.)

As Doris Day (no Not That Doris Day. This one is a scientist) has as a bumper sticker "Do not steal. The government hates the competition"

What can I say.. She works or worked, for the state of MI. when I knew her.. Same as I did.

It is almost impossible to catch them. Tech was rolled out with security an afterthought.

But go after which government? North Korea, China, Russia? Foreign governments are probably doing most of the scamming these days.

If not most, a very high percentage.

AFAIK, only a very small percentage of it is done by US criminals.

I just pay whatever email bills come in and don't worry about it. I'll have plenty of funds available as soon as the EFT comes through from the deal I did with the Nigerian antiques broker. I fronted a small stipend of $10,000 so the $3 million could be released from the National Bank of Zumunda who are holding the funds. I'll be splitting it with Barrister N'dugu so we'll both get a tidy sum! I'm told the money will be here any day now!! Oh, what a Christmas this is going to be!!!

You're too late! The guy died today!

Authorities found 27 billion dollars at his home in Nigeria... He had been trying to give it away for 15 years, but no one would respond to his emails.

I just called about my Altura Credit Union MasterCard credit card which was fraudulently used at a Chevron gas station here in Auburn for $175.00 while I was still in Tehachapi, CA.

A gas station which I have never used.

This credit card expires this month 11/24.

The CU said they did send me a new credit card here to Auburn in October, while I was in Flagstaff, AZ, which I never received. They say it was NOT activated, yet needed to be activated to be used.

So I don't know how this happened with an unactivated new credit card. But Altura Credit Union is now investigating this. My credit card is now canceled and they will send me a new one.

BTW, I have never used this credit card at ANY gas station.

The Amazon package I did not receive was only $40.00 worth of stuff and was the smaller of a split order. With this small package in the smaller mailbox that was ripped off, and the larger package was in the larger mailbox that requires a key the PO puts in the smaller box. The key was there with one piece of junk mail and I did receive the larger box on this Amazon order, which was more than a hundred bucks worth of stuff.

So I got ripped off very little, but I did report it to the postal inspectors. I figure it was mostly, if not all junk mail, other than the credit card and the $40.00 Amazon package.

So not that big of a deal and is all now taken care of.

Some very minor good news about this. In the process, I had to change my Tesla Conductivity package which was automatically charged to this CC account for $9.99 per month. Since I was forced to change that to a different credit card, in the process I discovered I could pay $99.00 per year instead of the $9.99 per month. I have been wasting $20.88 per year since 2018, without realizing it, until I discovered this fraud.

Here is a new one i got today. Far as i know paypal does not have a phone number to call them and if they know it is wrong they would just fix it. And if they mistakenly already charged me why do they want me to pay again?

The NYT's this morning has an article describing an AI program which answers scam callers and engages them in long rambling conversations as the granny on the line is always on the verge of pulling the trigger. In one conversation three scammers are in on one call as they repeatedly try to lure the AI granny into entering www into the search bar so they can drain her accounts. She'll be on the verge of making the entry and then go off into talking about her cat or birds in the backyard or her grandchildren.

What's the average price for regular out there these days?
Around $4.50 a gallon. I don't buy gas often in the Auburn area, but I think that is around the Auburn price. Reno is not much better, I think we get our gasoline in Reno from CA.

-Don- Verdi, NV (lunch as I get a free charge on my Energica motorcycle)

I'm so glad that California is in our rear view mirror - here in Middle Tennesse we're paying $2.59 a gallon for regular gas - I actually saw a station selling for $2.39 yesterday!
