Hello Folks,

I am a total Newbie, researching the heck out of travel trailers but would value solid opinions from veterans!

I am going to buy a travel trailer for a permanent spot at a campground on lake Weiss in North Eastern Alabama.  Have been searching for reviews of different travel trailers ( a horrible mistake!)
Have looked at different manufacturers and love the looks of the Grand Design, (pricey, wish I could find a used one) Coachman, Jayco and a number of Keystone brands and models. I have decided on a rear living or rear entertainment floor plan,  going to need 50 amp for 2 A/C units and well insulated.(it is hot down here) The tanks and all are not much of a concern, it isn't moving after the set up.(unless they are as miserable as some sites claim and I shove it in the lake) So your thoughts, brands, the place I am parking it has all the hook ups, and I can even have an LP tank put in so no LP tanks to mess with.  HELP!!!

If you know it will never move, consider a park model. A bit more money, but would probably be worth it in the long run. I also mean a true park model, not a destination trailer. Some dealers call a destination trailer a park model. There's a world of difference. From what I've recently seen, destination trailers are worse than a travel trailer. One would think they would have a lot insulation, but all the ones I have looked at don't even have an enclosed bottom.
