Terry and Betty left Williams, AZ this morning and dry camped at Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde, AZ for the night. We called ahead to make  plans with Don and Peg.  Peg was involved  with  Forte Verde Days and a display of over  140 quilts.  She has  14 on display. Ned and Lorna are visiting them and  we all met at the Casino tonight for  dinner.  It was fish fry night but none of us opted for the  fish! When I told  the waiter  we wanted  separate checks he misinterpreted my signal  and thought I wanted  TWO glasses of  Chardonnay. Well maybe I did.  I ordered the meatloaf.  I had Terry take  photos on my new Iphone  to "prove" our rally.  Ned also took a photo on his Andriod.  The photos are really good and when  I figure out how to get a photo from my new  Iphone to  this RVForum I will post it.  But for tonight I am going to bid good night!

Some info....Don is well, Peg is still experiencing back pain from sciatica problems.  Ned looks well and Lorna is still  full of life and  experiencing all of life's tourist attractions! Big day for Peg tomorrow as she turns  80!  Sorry we will miss the ice cream and cake celebration in Camp Verde tomorrow.  I am  homesick and just wanna go home!

80???  Wow!!!  If there ever was a lady who doesn't look even close to her chronological age, it's our beautiful Peg!  Happy Birthday, Peg!  Miss your company so very much!

We seem to be getting a few more "80s" all the time.  I do believe the group is aging rapidly.

Tom crosses that threshold next May.

Peg,

Happy Birthday and you look GREAT, wish you many more years and I'm sure that Don will be the best and gracious partner to take care of you.
In the meantime with all those mini party rallys he collects more left over foods for our best friend Jack.
After a whole year of disappearing form the Internet we decided to sign up for a Monaco Norcal rally in Plymoyth, the birth place form either the first or second RV compuserve rally many ears ago. With all the problems we have had this year we wanted to see if we are realy fit to continue the RV life stile. Mimi turned 78 and I'm hanging on to 80 so the question was is it still safe to drive the Motorhome. Well Mimi gave me B+ and no more driving when its dark and no more single driving trips more than 650 miles a day.
I will report later on this rally and hope there are more to join us at the FMCA rally at Indio and our favorite spot at Anza Borrego.

It's great to hear you're back on the road, Chris - but there's something wrong with your math!

You'll have to average over 70 MPH from sunup to sundown to cover that much mileage - assuming 10 hours of daylight and taking three 20 minute stops along the way.

Cut your planned daily mileage in half, and enjoy the ride!

Happy Birthday, Peg!!! I share your sciatica problem. It has really plagued me this summer but i'm working through it. Hope we both find a solution soon. You certainly do not seem to be 80!!!!

Chris, really glad to hear you and Mimi might still be RVing. Really miss you both.

Lou,

There is nothing wrong wrong with our math. We don't take 20 minutes brakes and70 mph average is no problem. Ask Tom, that's
why he doesn't want to travel with me. :)

LOL Chris, when you get behind the wheel, it's like you're back in your Monte Carlo rally days   My driver has a heavy foot, but she can't keep up with the Pennings coach  :(

Chris,

I do some long days, but I do not do 70 MPH.

Also I found that as I get older that taking a break really does increase the awareness factor and therefore safety. Consider a little less driving with a few breaks, you'll enjoy it! I won't try to talk you out of the 70 MPH, I just find that 62 to 65 is a very comfortable speed.

We will see you at Indio and Anza Borrego.

Glad your back on the road.

Chris and Mimi --

So glad to hear that you are able to be on the road again!

Glad that it went well and Mimi graded you out at B+ -- She seem pretty tough and I suspect that most other folks would grade you at an A.

Keep well and be safe.

Peg - Happy Birthday. Mom says 80 is good :) She hits 85 in a couple of months.

Chris & Mimi - Looking forward to seeing you at Indio. We may be at Anza Borrego in November - wonderful place. Death Valley in February if you're heading that way.

Hi Don and Mary Ann,
We have been following your trip and the various Mini rallies meeting you had with old and new friends. We sure enjoyed your visit to our place and the welcome door will always be open. You better hurry to the East to attend Gary's rally. Say hello to every one and particular to Garry and Nancy , they are fantastic hosts. Have a save trip.
