Here's what we're looking for:  We want a Class C motorhome approximately 24 - 26 feet total in length.

1 slide in the living area

booth type of table, not a U - shaped one

                                              sleeps 6

captain's chairs in the front that can rotate so you can sit in them at night or an extra chair at the front

We are currently trading in our not so old Coachman 21 Q RV because it lacked these things.  Sad to say also found out that it has approx:  $10,000 in water damage. :(  We didn't know we had any as we are not 'wise' RV people.  So we are looking for a well-made RV, preferably not new, but 1 or 2 years old.  Willing to pay for good quality after this experience.  Do not need all the bells and whistles.  Any recommendations welcome!!!

Thank you !!!!!

Welcome to the forum!  Since you are not looking for new, you may want to look into RV Trader or PPL web pages, to get an idea of what might meet your needs.  Once you know what meets your needs, then you can decide what to do next.

You should BECOME a "wise" buyer/owner of RV's before jumping in again... good news, this forum and the people/resources we have are here to help! :) That way you don't have to wonder what you are buying, and hope there won't be problems.

Did you current rig have the water damage when you purchased, and you just didn't find/recognize it? Our Library link has all sorts of articles, buyers/inspection checklists, tips that can help out. Not to mention you can search our extensive archive of threads, jump into other conversations, or post more new questions of your own.

Do you want to sleep 6 adults or two adults and four kids? Also, how much do you all weigh?  That makes a big difference in the size of the beds.  It also makes a big difference in cargo carrying capacity.  With 6 adults riding around with you, you may not have weight capacity to carry anything else.  In that case, you might want to consider a small Class A, which will have a much higher weight capacity.

I have a Class C and am very happy with it, but I travel alone.  And I barely meet my 1,300 pound cargo carrying capacity.  This number must include sewage, fresh water, me, my clothing, my kitchen stuff, and anything else I carry other than what came with the motorhome when it was driven off the dealer lot.

If you are over your weight limit, you will have more tire blowouts and might even bend your frame, so this is a serious concern.
