We are looking at a GD. Seems like the best deal we've found is at Great American Rv? Now, saying that price is the only factor, we want great service as well!

If you have any experience with this dealer that you'd like to share, we'd love to hear it. You can send a DM if that would be better. I don't want to use this post to bash anybody, just want honest feedback.

Or if there are other dealers that you recommend in the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana areas, I'd appreciate that info as well.

We bought ours from Genuine RV in Nacogdoches but I think they've changed hands.
They were very happy to let us stay in their yard for as many days as we wanted to check everything out before leaving.

You mean after purchase correct, lol?

Well, yes and no!
We had reserved the unit a couple of months earlier which they held without deposit. We arrived around 3:30pm to take a quick look before finding a hotel for the night. They were quite perplexed and said are we not buying it? We said yes but needed a good look over and we'd be back next day to go over everything and do the paperwork.
No need for a hotel they said, we could stay in the fifth wheel and try it out. They'd already hooked water and power.
For some strange reason, the transfer of funds from our uk bank took a couple of days, but even when cleared, we were welcome to stay.

We still missed things though, and wasn't aware of one until July last year!
The front axle brakes had never been wired from the factory!!
Only found out when having bearings repacked, despite having them done previously by other so called rv service repair agents.
All good now though.
Lesson learned, tow it around the dealers yard and make sure all wheels lock up🤔

You can send a DM if that would be better.

Genuine RV,s price also included supply and installation of the fifth wheel hitch!

I am going to recommend Athens RV, 4031 State Highway 31 E, Athens, TX 7575. But they do not sell Grand Design, mostly Jayco.

We bought our Grand Design from Great American RV in Destin, Florida. Their entire staff was first rate. I would definitely recommend the dealership and they will be my first stop if we buy again.
Which GA dealership are you considering?

it’s in louisiana!
Which mode are you considering?
We bought the Momentum 392M

Sorry, not Destin, but DeFuniak Springs They were great in every respect except their accessory store prices, which were high.

On the grand design, it would be the solitude 390fls or the reflection 360fls.

Very nice rigs. I don’t think you asked, but I will offer this advice;
Get an air ride hitch. I had a small (35ft, 11k lbs) fifth wheel a few years ago on a sliding hitch, but no air ride. Rough roads and bumps hit very hard.
I have my 392M (45 ft, 22k lbs) on a Hensley Trailer Saver and it rides better than my old fifth wheel.

Tow vehicle capabilities are defined by their tow ratings, including Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), and Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). It's essential to ensure your tow vehicle's ratings exceed the loaded weight of your travel trailer and its contents. While your truck should have ample, I suggest starting by reading this article.
