Anyone have an opinion on add a rooms??

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!

Had one years and years ago with our pop-up. They work exactly as designed and aren't too horrible to set up and take down, once you get used to the process.

My biggest issue was constantly zipping and unzipping to enter/exit.

We also had one on our pop up. It is much easier to travel with kids and a dog if you have more space! They only work well with the old style manual awnings that aren?t too high above the ground. The first few times we put it out or took it down, it took 30 minutes, but we got it down to 10 or so after a while.

While not exactly an add on room, we recently bought a Clam Escape pop up screen shelter and really like it so far.

Hello!
I really want a screen room or add a room. Anyone have some advice on what's good and bad!
Weekender or long term traveler??

When a sudden thunderstorm comes up with strong winds can you take the room down in just 1-2 minutes.

If you are gone for for an hour or all day, do you want to take it down or leave it up?

AStravelers asks valid questions well worth your consideration.

We likewise had such a room with our first camper, a pop-up.  We used it every time we camped, practically lived out there and slept in the camper.  With such a small footprint in the camper, every added square foot of living area is valuable.

There were only two of us and our dog.  We were admittedly short-term, fair-weather campers and never had to take it down because of rain or wind.

We always tied our awning down with 12? screw in ground anchors designed to hold large dogs. Then we ran a webbing line over the middle of the awning parallel to the camper, also tied down with screw in anchors. We put straight anchors to attach the awning bars to the ground, then tied the top corners with two cross-tied lines. I know we had it in winds up to about 40 mph. Note there is no way I could do that on my current rig with an awning 11? above ground and no ground poles. The OP seems to have an older rig, so our approach might work for him/her.
