Like Ned, I've never heard of the Hann-G. Bought a Planar from Gateway several years ago and haven't had any problems. Acer and Viewsonic are both good, but have so many models that you really need to view them in person before making a choice. Specs and speeds mean nothing. It's how they look to you that matters. If possible, try to get one that has USB ports built in for attaching other devices.

In addition to USB ports, speakers are also a nice feature.  My Gateway has an optional speaker bar that also includes audio in and out jacks.

Don't forget to check the length of the warrenties. The three years that Samsung was offering on their monitors was the selling point for me. Newegg again.

I see the Hann-G label offered at deep discounters like Tiger Direct and Newegg. Have no idea about it's reliability or who the manufacturer really is.
