Propane. Extremely restricted in the Ft McHenry Tunnel or the Baltimore Tunnel. From 95 s take 695 around Baltimore The turn off is one exit past White Marsh blvd after MP 65 and you want to go west.
But why is the question
Its not just a matter of on or off, as the quoted information above says, its a MAXIMUM of 10 lbs per container.I have to ask the question…how would anyone know whether you have the propane on or off? I’ve gone through that tunnel a half-dozen times with the propane furnaces on and never gave it a thought. Neither did anyone else.
But if you must avoid the tunnel, just take 695 around the city.

We got stopped in our motorhome before we got into the tunnel. It didn't matter if the propane was on or off. The mere presence of a large capacity tank automatically made us a prohibited vehicle.I have to ask the question…how would anyone know whether you have the propane on or off? There is no Francis Scott Key Bridge right now. Just go around the beltway. ChuckHaving lived in that area for many years, I'm not sure why you'd want to to take I-695 around the western side of the city. There is less traffic on the eastern side of the loop and crossing the Francis Scott Key Bridge shouldn't be a problem. Yes, you can avoid a toll if you use the western side, but you will encounter significantly more traffic.
Have they started replacing that bridge? There is no Francis Scott Key Bridge right now. Just go around the beltway. Chuck
The project is set to begin in 2025, and the replacement bridge is expected to be complete by Fall 2028. Kiewit estimates rebuilding the bridge will cost about $1.2 billion, which is less than the initial projection of $1.7 billion, but a more accurate cost projection will be made halfway through phase one..Aug 29, 2024Have they started replacing that bridge?
Kiewit as in PKS (peter kiewit and sons)? Funny, they ran our data centers when we outsourced our mainframe at work. They were a good vendor to work with. The project is set to begin in 2025, and the replacement bridge is expected to be complete by Fall 2028. I had a lot of fun too. I was one of those guys who made a career from iebgener, iebedit, and idcams. Thought it was funny how all those smart programmers needed help with those. Back then best practice was to ensure that programmers didnt have access to production and another group tested and moved their stuff. The world has certainly changed.I spent 25 years repairing Sperry Univac mainframes. Great fun.
