Awning groans when closing

We have a power awning, I have sprayed joints with WD40 and Silicone lubricant. Both seems to work about a month. Is there anything else I can try? Does not seem to have an issue opening, but closing…OMG sounds like an old man trying to get up out of a chair!

It comes with the territory. I'm sure some enterprising RV couple who have been RV'ing their entire adult lives ( going on 2 yrs. now) with their own YouTube show will be glad to highly recommend a specific awning arm spray lube which was developed by NASA engineers.

Since a lubricant solves the problem, you merely need one that doesn't wash or wear away in a month. That's a factor called "cling", i.e. how long the lubricant stays in place. I can name a few that ought to be longer lasting, but I make no promises.

I groan getting in the chair, while in the chair and while getting out of the chair. We went to dinner last night with friends and were sat at one of those high top tables. My knees will not bend far enough back for my feet to rest on the bar around the stool so my legs hung down all night. Halfway through dinner both legs were asleep and tingly. So much for the golden years.
