Awning Troubles

The plastic clip that latches the awning supports together in the "stored" or hauling mode broke on our last trip.. while duct tape secured it for the trip home from Ruidoso, I need a more permanent fix.. is a velcro strap of some sort available?  I haven't foud the clip on Camping World's eb site.. its an A&E awning.

Have you tried calling A&E? They might ship you one for free.

There are metal ones on our 2001 A&E.

I've seen those.. mine are the cheesy plastic clips you squeeze from both sides.. can I install the metal fold over clips in place of the plastic type?

I don''t see why not, mine are held on with pop rivets.

Most any RV dealer can order replacement parts from A&E, since most of them sell A&E awnings. If you want the sturdier parts for a different model awning, order those instead - after making sure they will fit.
