Hello, I am back again, I am pretty sure this is the forum we joined way back in 2008, when we bought our first TT. We didn't know a whole lot, and the forums were a great help! We moved to a different coach in 2020, but by then we had it pretty well figured out and didn't even think to stop by.

That said, we just bought our first motorhome, which, while the same, is also a little different, so thought we'd peruse the forums and check out motorhome stuff we may not yet know about. Probably will do a lot more reading than posting, but who knows!

We had a nice bunk coach when the kiddo was younger, but as he grew up and move on with life, we switched to an Alpha Wolf 22SWL, which after nearly 4 years of owning it, have come to believe, it's probably one of the absolute best couples coaches out there. We absolutely LOVED it! Perfect for the two of us, and we will miss it for sure!

But we do a lot. We ride motorcycles, and quads, but didn't like any of the toy haulers. Everything is a trade off, of course, but having several friends with them, we just didn't think that was the route we wanted to go. We also ride horses, so a Toy Hauler wasn't much help there either, without serious modifications and stall kits installed. A neat solution, but a lot of work. We also have a small 2 horse gooseneck weekender, basically a bed, air conditioner, lights, microwave, coffee pot, and enough room to change. But no heat, stove, bathroom, etc.....We did a 4 night camping trip off grid in a pasture, on a cattle drive a few months ago, and being below freezing at night, in an old steel metal box? We decided then and there, we were over that, and needed something else.

While a Class C isn't the BEST choice to tow horses (even with the 8,000 lb tow rating, most all Class C's are limited by the 500 lb tongue weight) it can be done legally, and safely, with the right trailer. And, it will tow the motorcycles, quads, jeep, whatever, just fine. Just need a new horse trailer too now.....

So, we pick up our new 24 Thor Chateau 28A Friday. We will certainly miss our Alpha Wolf, but excited about the new adventures to come in our new rig. We did a lot of studying, and we think this coach is going to suit us perfectly, for the next 9 years until retirement, when we may buy something a little bigger. Or not. We'll see, we tend to be fairly minimalist anyway.

Its certainly going to be a lot more convenient than towing a TT, just jump in and go....no having to take two rigs, one truck and camper, one jeep and quads/motorcycles. So, thanks for still being here, I'm sure we have a lot to learn!

We do quite a bit of travelling, to motorcycle destinations, ATV trips, horse trips, hiking/rucking trips, cowboy action shooting matches, and occasionally, camping just for the sake of camping. So we'll be out there, stop by and say hi!
