Hi all, new here.
I have a 2005 Outfitter Mfg. truck camper. The original solenoid battery separator gave up the ghost recently. I replaced it with an electronic battery isolator, but it doesn?t appear to be working properly. I have it mounted in the camper unit, next to camper battery. Hooked up correctly, it connects for about a second, then disconnects and the blue light flashes indefinitely.
I?ve tried everything I can think of,  barring getting a new unit. Any tips or advice?
Thanks.
Brian

Welcome to the Forum!

You have given us almost nothing to work with.  What make / model is the new unit?  What is the truck?  Gas or diesel? (1 or 2 batteries)?
What disconnects?  Have you contacted the manufacturer?

Sorry.
It?s a ?Battery Doctor? brand. 150 amp, electronic battery isolator.
I?m running a 2008 Dodge Cummins with two starter batteries.
The camper is an Outfitter, with two 12 volt batteries.
When I start the truck, you can feel something click inside the unit, blue light turns on (which indicates charging), then about a second later, the click happens again, and the blue light does nothing but flash, and there is no charge. If I hook the charge wire, from the truck, directly to the batteries, there is a charge.
I haven?t contacted the manufacturer yet.
Thanks again.

Thank you.

I just checked the manufacturer's site.

Is the camper battery fully charged, so the system clicks off??
Is the truck battery so low from starting the truck that all the charge is going there?
Is it happening at idle where minimum current is being generated?  May work fine while traveling?

Admittedly, I am grasping at straws.

Thanks for trying Grashley!
I?m going to have to answer no to all your questions.
The unit seems to stay ?disconnected? with a flashing blue light, indefinitely, until I disconnect the wiring coming into it.
Maybe I should just try ordering a new unit, and go from there...
