On a later visit, the same member reached Big Creek in a Class A from the easier Austin side and found the campground cleaned up, with no cow mess remaining. The first part of the unpaved access road was described as very smooth, while the last five miles were extremely bumpy and slow, shaking the RV; the campground had vault toilets, creekside sites, weak cell service requiring Starlink, and was initially empty but later filled with several car and tent campers using 4WD vehicles. Bottom line: the report presents Big Creek as quiet and scenic but remote, with access conditions highly dependent on direction and vehicle type.
