Bike rack between RV and toad

We use a dual hitch (over under, of course). We load the bikes onto the rack vertically so there is complete clearance for our flat-towed toad. Plus, with them vertical the lights on the back of the motorhome remain completely visible (other than the toad being in the way).

Remember, any time you add another component to the original hitch you effectively cut the tow capacity and tongue capacity in half due to the extra leverage from the length.

We currently pull our toad on a tow dolly behind our Class A diesel motorhome. We have a duel hitch system with a four bike rack, and it works well. I believe the company is called Hi Tow. If you’re using a tow dolly to pull your toad you’re not putting much weight on the hitch itself, most of the weight of the toad sits on the dolly axle. There’s a decent amount of space between the bikes and the toad.
