Blocking Distracting Animated Ads

Animated ads are rather distracting. I don't mind ads, since somehow this site must be paid for, but the animations are sufficiently distracting that I need to figure out how to eliminate them.

I actually came to this section to make this post because my frustration from the animated dog teeth treatments were getting harder and harder to take, such that I had trouble concentrating on what I was trying to read. And no, I don't have a dog, or any pet for that matter, so it's an ad that is useless for the advertiser anyhow.

Using AdBlock plus on the pc and Brave Browser on phone. Never, see any ads at any time. Never.

Some of the comments got me to remembering that I have NoScript, so I tried making certain sites untrusted. So, initially at least, it appears that adthrive.com was the culprit.

I've never seen ads on this site.
I use the Brave Browser for all forum sites, and it seems to do a good job of blocking ads.

Gotta' love those "warnings" on sites that detect you're blocking their ads pleading with you to allow ads on their site. Uh... no. 'fraid not. Plenty of other sites that don't mind using ad blockers.

I also use Brave, (thanks go to Lou for mentioning it here) but I would not get ads here anyway, as a "RVLIFE Pro Member".

It is nice to have the ads removed from You-Tubes and stuff like that.

With all the ads on the web, they are causing many people to take such actions as ad blockers and Brave. Otherwise, Ads have gotten to the point of being intolerable.

I still use Edge once in a while for things that cannot be done on Brave, such as viewing my home cameras in the IE mode. And I also often use the "screenshot" function on Edge that most other browsers do not have.

I switch browsers as needed, but I normally use Brave.

But how often do you see websites that detect you're using an ad-blocker and must turn it off to continue? That happened to me many times with Adblock.

Absolutely. Seems like some media sites in general, especially local & regional sites are so plastered with pop-up, flashing ads that it's unviewable. Plus they don't even let you view anything without subscribing. Really?! I came across a site from a search and now I have to subscribe to read anything? A site where it's highly likely I'll never visit again? Don't think so...

Then there's the click-bait type pages that try to get you to visit something like "top ten" something or other where each page is plastered with ads in between a short paragraph or content.

Fairly often but I NEVER turn off the blocker and just find other sites.

If I had to use the Edge browser to get something, I would do without.

I have Chrome, Brave, and Firefox browsers all running, each for different functions. Anything that one of those three cannot do for me, I probably don't need done.

Why is that? I find some advantages of Edge, such as when I want to copy only a section of a photo in Edge.

But also, there is no other way for me to view my home cameras that require the IE mode of Edge.

I also have Chrome, FF & Brave and other browsers. There are no single browsers that can do everything.

As some others have suggested, download "Brave" and then go to DuckDuckGo. You'll never had an advertisement of any kind again. It's shocking after using DuckDuck and then flipping over to Microsoft Edge how much stupid JUNK downloads and how much JUNK, even the RV Forums, including this one spits out. And what's more disturbing, those stupid advertisements always load first before the page I actually want pops in. DuckDuck eliminates all of that. It works so well, I use it exclusively on my phone now too. Plus, it never keeps cookies or history. It will keep user ID's and Passwords if you tell it to when logging in the first time. I don't mind logging in every time, just hover over the log in box and it will pull up your user ID and password. Drop it in and bingo! Instantly "in" and NO stupid ads.

The only time I use Edge now (Microsoft products) is when I want to go to Facebook. Edge has cookies and history enabled, and it's just a bit easier it seems for Facebook. But it takes forever for Facebook to actually come up because the stupid ads load first, along with their stupid videos and everything else.

I feel your pain. ... been there ... done that .... Use your current browser and simply type is DuckDuckGo.com and then go to this forum site. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised! If you download Brave, it's even better.
