Blue Beacon RV Washers

Everytime we travel ,I will try and plan my route towards the end to stop by a blue beacon and get the rig washed, I have had great luck with them.

I have a few times. IMHO I would not go there for a "good" wash. If you want it good then you will have to find a place to park and dry your coach off yourself. I used them when I was traveling in bad weather and the coach was really dirty. I learned after the first time to dry it off myself, way to many water spots and streaks even with the spotless rinse (that I paid extra for). Also had the tire shine which surprisingly lasted a long time. I think you can pay them to dry it too. But as you know to do it right you have to take a hour an dry your coach.

I used a no-name along I-10, got a decent wash no problems.. I use Blue Beacon in Las Vegas, Same report.. I also used a mobile wash in Las Vegas,  Very good results there.

We used Blue Beacon in Texas and again in Reno, both times with good results.  In Texas the Blue Beacon had a commercial side and then a side that actually did hand washing.  They did a great job!  In Reno, we just used the regular Blue Beacon.  They did dry it for a small fee.  ;D

I've used Blue Beacon for years for both commercial tankers and my 5th wheel.  They do a great job as long as you're not looking for a "show quality" finish.  As with some of the previous posts I tend to put Blue Beacon on my route when I'm close to my destination.

In general, it's hit and miss on finding a good one.  Us truckers call them "Streakin' Beacons".  There is a reason for this nickname.  My only tip would be don't go to any truck wash that's got them lined up waiting to get into the wash bay.  The kids doing the washing aren't exactly getting rich on wages and they tend to do too fast of a wash job just to get you through.  A monetary tip to the attendants does help if you just NEED to get the RV washed or need some special attention.

We tried the Blue Beacon in Kansas City MO after my husband drove from Dallas to KC with our new RV. The weather was rainy, and there had been ice melt on the roads so we wanted to clean it up.  The wash was okay, got off the worst grime, but as mentioned by others wasn't  spotless and no drying!  We would use them again to get off the really nasty dirt in a pinch, but would like to find some one else to do a better job in the future.

I have also used the Blue Beacon in Vegas when I go to the races. Paid around $55.00 for wash, no spot rinse and tire shine. Drove to the track a dried the coach off and it didn't;t look to bad. About a hour later the mobile wash comes in did about 10 coaches over 4 hours and they looked great. Went and asked one of the coach owners what it cost and was told $40.00. Pretty good deal!

Yes I have used Beacon . Once near Florida and once outside Vegas. Both times everything was a mess. Was it perfect? No. However it removed salt and brine my main concern. That said they use pressure washers , they work hard and fast and unknown to myself took  out my Norcold Recall Kit from the water getting through the outside grill of the fridge. I can't blame them  as I asked for a wash and that was what they gave me. However knowing what I know now I would turn off fridge ,put saran wrap under fridge grill before getting washed. They also asked if you want rainx. I think if you go the full package you will get a better job.

Yes Jerry, many of us have our opinions and yet are civil about it. I also love this forum because of that and of the experience that is here when it comes to RVing. I am positive that this forum has saved many of us from difficult issue.

As for Blue Beacon. If your coach is a mess from the travel elements then it is a good place to go. But if you want it done right (speaking for myself now). Then you will always do the best job?

I am going to the gulf coast for a week in late Feb.  Planned on hitting a Blue Beacon on the way home to get the salt spray off.  Have any of you used Blue Beacon for this?  Do they do a good job on salt.  What about undercarriage?  Do you extend the slides so they can be cleaned or is that something left for when you get home?  Any special way to clean the salt from the seals on the slides?

Blue Beacon isn't going to do the undercarriage unless you can talk them into it with a gratuity. As far as the slides are concerned I WOULD NOT put them out. BB uses some seriously high pressure wands and your slide seals aren't designed for that type of sideways rain if you get my drift. I've used BB many time for just the purpose your contemplating, we like to spend a fair portion of the year here on the Coastal Bend and on the way back to either AZ or WY I'll hit one for a clean off.
