We are wanting to make our first trip to see the Rocky Mountain National Park. Just wanting to know if anybody has boondocked between Estes Park and Meeker Park to the south. There appears to be NFS land just east of Highway 7. Thanks! BTW - we are planning our trip for the last week of September.

Let us know what you find out. I'm always interested in boon docking near National Parks.

We boondocked last year the other side of the park near Grand Lake.
As long as we were in the park before 9am, there was no need for timed entry.

You need to realize that you could have snow in the park and mountains around it by that time. Trail Ridge Road can get snow at any time but it usually melts off fairly quickly in September. We used to camp at Green Ridge campground on Shadow Mountain Reservoir, which is just at the west end of Trail Ridge Road. It has been a few years since we were last there, but I don't know of any disbursed camping in that area.

My AllStays Camp&RV shows a spot labeled as Little Coyote Dispersed at 40.3186667, -105.4888245, 4122-4592 Little Valley Drive Estes Park. A satellite view shows some open areas with at least one fire pit. It also shows as 20’max RV length and 4WD sometimes necessary. That would be due to the sharp curves needed to get there off the main road. But there are houses before the dispersed area, so it might be worth a call to the USFS office to get more information. There are also some USFS campgrounds, but expect crowds since RNMP is incredibly popular, particularly on the Estes Park side. Jackie’s comment about west side camping would probably be a more conservative choice.

Oh Lord, it's worrying when you get Tiny and I mixed up. He looks nothing like me 😂😂

You should have been wearing your name tags!
That's the problem with some Americans Jackie, they think all foreigners look alike🤣🤣😁

Best wishes and safe travels to you all.
