A quick question regarding the Break Away System when disconnecting from the dingy.  When removing the coiled cable from the dingy, do you leave the ring and insert in the junction box or do you leave both in place and just unclip the cable?  Is there an advantage to either way? Disadvantage?  I have my own thoughts and just would like to hear from others.

Just unclip, leave the ring and stem it's attached to.

If you "pull the pin", you essentially activate the emergency break away system.  Do not do that!  Just unclip the cable.

Not on a Brake Buddy. Pulling the pin simply shorts the leads on the breakaway cable. If you've already disconnected the Brake Buddy inside the toad, which requires unplugging the breakaway cable, pulling the pin does nothing.
