I am going to echo the suggestion of many to install a volt meter

There are several you can use, Digital and analog plug in or test lead..

At the minimum you need to go to Harbor Freight and pursue their flyer. Often they have a cheap multi-meter for free with another purchase. Make that purchase a KILL-A-Watt. this is also a Multi-meter. about 1,000 dollars worth of meters...... In a 20 dollar box.  Plug it in and press the Voltage button

(I think that is the default).

YOu can also use it to test thigns up to about 2,000 watts (they are rated 15 amps).

AC has been running without tripping the breaker.. Pretty sure the compressor was shaken up a bit and just needed to settle for the 24 hours.

Thank you all for your help.  :)

That could be it.  I know you have to watch moving fridges(residential style)and not tip them too much, or they don't work right afterwards.
Even the counter-top ice maker we bought had instructions to let it sit for a while before plugging it in.
