CA to ban most new motorhomes?

That and the tax abatement that Plano gave them. Toyota, Liberty Mutual, Samsung, Mahindra, and many more have come to Plano. Similar to what Richardson did to get high tech and telecom firms to relocate years ago. My wife and I were corporate relocations from Silicon Valley to Plano. Came with the now defunct Nortel Networks. After much research chose Plano because back in '95 it was THE place to be. Don't have kids so the schools were not that much an issue for us but I can say my house has appreciated more than 3x since then. Got no complaints with Plano other than traffic and it seems lately that every street is undergoing repair!!

When Toyota made the move, housing went through a steep inflationary climb here. Houses in our neighborhood were seliing at 115-125% list. The average listing to sold window was less than a week and it was only that long to get all the offers in. Our home value has gone up 2.5-3x since 2010.
The market has definitely cooled now however.

I have never figured out why people so against living in California have to tell everyone that whenever any topic remotely dealing with that state comes up! Why don’t they just let the topic continue with people who are interested? Has no one ever heard of the “just pass by a post you aren’t interested in?” Sigh. California is home to many lovely areas. If you don’t like it, stay away. Just don’t repeat ad infinitum variations of “I wouldn’t live there!” There are lots of areas of the country I wouldn't want to even visit on a bet. Know what I do when others talk about them? Just pass the post by.
A lot of it is politics. California stirs some folks up.

Of course, these people are trying to be provocative to get a reaction. When they think of "California"...they think of certain political beliefs that set them off. It's a classic form of trolling when done online. I mostly try to ignore it (or to not feed the trolls), but some times I can't just let it pass without commenting on how ridiculous these comments are having previously lived in California many years of my life. Loved it. I like this forum and get a lot of good info about RVing. I also like most of the discussions about things other than RVing, but I really dislike the trolling. Please stop. It's a real turn off.

Yes. In our part of the woods they refer to California as the "Land Of Fruits and Nuts"
The version I heard goes something like this: "San Francisco is like a bowl of Granola. If you remove all the fruits and nuts, you have nothing left except for the flakes".

In the army I heard:

"California, the land of beautiful women and the men who wish they were".

Congress Revokes EPA Waivers for California's Clean Truck, NOx Rules

Trump is expected to sign Congressional resolutions to pull back the Environmental Protection Agency waiver for California emissions rules that were phasing out internal-combustion-powered cars and trucks and tightening diesel emissions limits in the meantime.

California, however, has vowed to fight. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta announced the state will file a lawsuit, saying the waiver revocations are a move that will “Make America Smoggy Again.”

Except for California, every state scheduled to adopt California’s rules in 2025-26 has delayed them to 2027, modified them, or is actively considering similar actions, according to the Safe Roads Coalition, a group of towing and recovery truck businesses that has been against the clean-truck mandates. The remaining ACT states have an adoption date of 2027.
