The current gas price here in Reno, NV at a Chevron gas station a mile from me.

Gas prices are just as high here in Reno, if not higher than CA.

However, it's cheaper in Carson City and Fernley. The difference is probably local taxes here in Reno.

Yep. That’s pricey. More expensive than where we are in Canada right now. And it’s pricey here compared to some places. Ugh. Hang in there guys.

But most around here are a little cheaper. Price varies a lot in this area. Average price here is around $4.15 for 87 octane. Around the same for the gas price, in Auburn, CA.

I noticed capital cities are cheaper, such as Sacramento, CA or Carson City, NV.

I enjoy seeing those high gas prices when I am in my EVs, often charging for free, such as here, right between my Auburn, CA house and here at my Reno, NV House. But I can make the whole trip without stopping there, but it is hard to resist a free charge during this time of very high gas prices. :)

BTW, click on the photo there and you will see more photos, including my Energica motorcycle.

When I drive my new RV to Florida in a couple of weeks, I will probably feel a bit differently about the gas prices. :)

Just heard on the news that one town in Ca, has I gas at $7.50 per gallon

I think that is that isolated little town on highway 1 right on the coast. I’m sure it’s not cheap to truck it in there.

I wonder what it is in our old stomping grounds in Palm Springs. People routinely wait 45 minutes to tank up at Costco there. I’m not sure what the Costco savings are but they must be considerable.

Still 8 bucks to go 500 kilometres In an EV here. But speed limits are slow at around 90 -100 kmh and roads are curvey and twisty. I’m sure it would be pricier at interstate speeds.

Cheers.

Fill up when you come through Pahrump. Prices here are about half that and are consistently lower than in Las Vegas (Nye County has lower taxes).

$4.13 a gallon according to Gas Buddy. 15 cents a gallon more at places like Arco and the truckstops. I watch my pennies but I'm not sure I'd wait in line for 45 minutes to save $2 filling my car's tank.

Lou’s picture of the Furnace Creek prices is not an exaggeration! When we had the diesel truck, we calculated we could drive it to Pahrump, fill up, eat a nice meal at the lovely Thai restaurant there, drive back to Furnace Creek, and still save money over filling up at that station! Of course it took 3 hours to do all that, but the drive is nice, and the restaurant really is good. Oh, and if you do need fuel in DV, the Stovepipe Wells price is higher than Pahrump, but consistently significantly less than Furnace Creek.

I can remember the very first time I was at the gas station at Scotty's Castle. $0.499 per gallon. Yeah almost fifty cents! I can remember then hearing people complain about that ridiculously high gas price.

Kinda shows how old I am. :) IIRC, the price in those days another gas stations were about half that price. So it's a better deal today than then! IOW, not quite double the price.

Yes, last year during my trip, the cheapest gas of the entire trip was there in Pahrump, NV at $1.999 per gallon. The gas station near the Winery RV Park that I stayed at for a week. Even cheaper than anywhere in AZ. but Kingman was close. Like five cents more per gallon than Pahrump.

If you don't want to drive to Pahrump, go to Death Valley Junction and the Amargosa Opera House, then turn north 8 miles to the NV state line. Gas, diesel and propane are available at the Longstreet Inn, Casino and RV Park. From their website: "Our Amargosa Valley gas station fuel selections are Nye County priced which is the lowest in the State of Nevada". Beatty (also in Nye County) has fuel for about $4 a gallon.

Thats a good route. Done it many times. And usually not a ton of traffic.

I paid $5.10 per gallon for diesel in Arcata, CA a couple of days ago. I hate California…

I personal would stay on 101 to Willits take 20 to Ft. Bragg. The switch backs on 1 at Leggett you can check your own tail lights. From Ft. Bragg to SF is not to bad, the traffic from Mill Valley to Pacifica is bad but you do cross the Golden Gate from there south is good (if no land slides).

Yet CA is the most populated state in the USA.

But it is better to work in CA than it is to visit and only buy gasoline there.:D

With you there.
I would not move back to the part of California that I left for Arkansas 29 years ago. However, now that I live and work in a campground in the Sierras, I like living in California again.
This, apparently, is a good thing. They just called me and asked if I wanted to work the winter season down at Mt Laguna, east of San Diego.

Congrats. Sounds like a great lifestyle. Enjoy.
