Camco Gate Valve?

I get my new trailer Tuesday, it has one black/grey outlet and another grey outlet pipe. Of course it has valves, but the pipes just have end caps. My question is do I want to put the Camco Gate Valve on both? Remember I’m 72 years old so bending down is not my favorite sport. Here’s a pic of the valve.

Pretty much a matter of personal preference. Sounds like you feel the Camco is a nice convenience, and if it's worth doing one, why not both? PS - I'm 80+ myself so I avoid extra bending too!

I don't look at those valves as optional. You couldn't pay me to remove that end cap without a safety valve.

I would say to definitely get them...On my last trip, my black tank pull bent and would not go back in. Without the gate valve, I would have been unable to close the tank and therefore making my bathroom unusable.

I suggest you camp once then decide. It's back to the, don't buy and carry things you might not need or use. My valves are close to end, if I'm bending, they are only a tad further than this valve. Personally, I feel it could be an easy habit to leave both waste waste valves open, allowing black to migrate into grey tank. Just fyi, they do make electric valves.

In all of my years of RVing, I never did that and never regretted it but, if your present valves are in a place that makes them difficult to use and adding the valves to the end would make life easier, it might be worth the cost. If you do, be very cautious of the added valves extending to a point where they might drag or hit something. You don't want a broken line with the tanks holding waste water.

The valve works as a great backup valve if one of your main tank valve leaks by just a touch which would give you one heck of a surprise if you take the end cap off and find maybe 1 or 2 gallons of you know what behind the cap.

Thanks guys, overall it’s not to expensive to add both so I think I will do it.
