Camp ground question

When I fill my tote to haul waste to the dump site there is odor involved. I try to do it when the neighbors are gone or inside.

My wife and I have never used a KOA style campground as a "destination" campground. They are crowded, sights are tight, and way too many street lights at night

My wife and I never use KOA's, and Dutchman Sport's quote is just one reason why. Higher prices are another. Franchise owners forward 10% of the rate to corporate which gets passed on to the camper. The OP will find out for himself/herself that there are many better campground options than KOA's.

While that's often true, it's not universally true. For instance in deep winter the KOA in Raton, NM is about the only place available, and is fine for an overnight stay. Conversely, the KOA in Santa Fe, NM is closed then, but some other campgrounds are open. There's a KOA in Tucson that is quite fancy (and pricey). And the original in Billings, MT is OK, too, at least the last time I was there.

I'll grant that there are some pretty sorry KOAs but there are some pretty decent ones, as well. And that's equally true of others, even when they're not in a "chain" -- Good Sam campgrounds for example, which are independent.

So I don't think a blanket statement is warranted, whether it's about KOA or some other places or things, even about Camping World, though that maybe comes close.
