I am known at work as a storyteller and when we were kids we loved the after dark campfire time tons of ghost stories and horrible campfire songs and horrible jokes and burned marshmallows' and spilled hot cocoa and a time to snuggle around the fire and connect to cousins and family.
So my question is who still tells ghost stories and plays silly games and what do you do around the fire besides drink beer and snore (not that that is a bad thing)?
Oh yea to all those folks who had to listen to yet another round of 100 bottles of beer on the wall 55 years ago I'm so sorry.

Well, my wife and I will sit around a campfire and tell stories....

Hey honey ... do you remember when the kids were little and we ....

Hey honey ... when I was a kid my grandfather ....

Hey honey ... did our daughter ever tell you what happened the other day when ....

The older we get, the MORE "stories" we retell!

I like some of that kind of story time, though most of the time it is me reminding hubby that yea remember when I put the remote in the freezer...
But I am referring to Good old fashioned ghost stories.
The Ghost with 3 white eyes or The teeny tiny women or The little old lady who was not afraid of anything or........ Seems like we are losing some of that to our phones and screens.
I for one want the old-fashioned stuff back.
The kidos in the class I work in like the Pirates of Double Bluff, The Green and Yellow fart and The Sea Monster on the Langley dock. (we live close to both Double Bluff and Langley every kid in the class has been to both of those)
I would happily go with never hearing 100 bottles of beer on the wall again but I remember singing that sooooo many times. And John Jacob Jingle Himer Smith or other equally horrible songs. We as kids had so much fun with those. I have been out with friends and their families but this seems to be a lost thing.
