I need to find a campground closest to Chicago, IL, specifically the Rosemont Convention Center.  Any ideas?

In my opinion, your best bet is to drive your car in and stay at a local hotel/motel. I don't think there is a campground within 25 miles of Rosemont. We no longer bring our coach into Chicago when visiting family and friends. Traffic is too difficult, parking impossible. Our coach was built in the Elkhart, IN area and we will schedule service there and leave it while visiting Chicago, then return to pick up the coach.

We stay at Fish Lake Resort in Volo, IL which is north. There is a commuter train to downtown that goes through Fox River which is close to the campground. We have never used it because our activities are all north of Chicago. We drive quite a ways west of Chicago and come back east to avoid the conjested area. Went through Chicago once, that was enough.

We seem to be headed to our daughter's (and granddaughters ;D) in Plainfield all the time and I have  not found a decent campground within 25 miles of there and it is practically in the country!

When attending conferences at McCormick Place, I stayed at the Windy City Campground off US 80, exit 148 and driven into Chicago several different times. This was the closest I could find.  Takes about 30 minutes to downtown from there.

Try the Empress Casino near Joliet. Max one week stay water and electric, nice spot. Easy to get to Plainfield from. When we finish our week there, we shift over to Martin's which is about five miles East, also just off I80 and then go back to the Empress.

I am planning on the Empress but the one week max and no sewer makes it a little more work.

There is a dump on site that's easy to get to.
