Traveling from US to Canada with a dog and cat. In doing research I found that i need a valid Rabies vaccination and proof of microchip? is that it? Same for coming back into US from Canada.

I cross several time per year and have never been asked for either,, I don't believe the microchip is required >>>Dan
Dogs must have a microchip that can be detected with a universal scanner to identify them.

From CDC website and valid from Aug 2024.

Rules are changing so look only on official websites from the respective governments, not on previous experience. In general, the U.S. had been harder to get back in than Canada. But with the feeling of betrayal Canada has now, who knows? Just be careful about your pet food too. Make sure to keep it in the original packaging so the ingredients can be identified.

Given the current sparring, I'd call them to be sure and not rely on what could be old news.
